INDIANAPOLIS – September 8, 2022 -- National Government Services announced today that it has once again been named prime contractor for the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Common Electronic Data Interchange (CEDI) program. National Government Services has maintained the lead on this contract since it was originally awarded in 2007. As a GSA Schedule contract, today’s announcement represents a continuation for one base year, plus four option years.

National Government Services’ CEDI program provides the single, front-end environment for the processing of Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) claims, remittance advice and claim status request and response transactions for the four Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).

Under National Government Services, the CEDI program can process more than 60 million claims annually through its dedicated environment, while allowing help desk technicians to support over 5,000 trading partners and 15,000 calls per year. In addition, National Government Services also provides environments and support for the DME MACs and Medicare Systems Integrated Testing (MIST) contractor to conduct electronic data interchange-related testing. The CEDI program’s highly reliable electronic data interchange front-end environment ensure DME suppliers experience an efficient and reliable exchange of their electronic transactions.

"We are very proud to be chosen again to continue this important work," said Jane Hite-Syed, National Government Services Chief Operating Officer. "We believe our experience and capabilities make us uniquely qualified to create efficiencies, introduce innovations and, ultimately, drive better health outcomes for recipients."
